2016 Models We’re Pretty Revved Up About

2016 is already upon us and it’s time to be upping your new year, new you game. For auto enthusiasts like us (and probably you, too), the New Year means an opportunity to revel in the exciting new model releases.

From sporty performance cars to luxurious SUVs, this year’s fresh-off-the-factory-line autos have something for everyone. And like most years, 2016 has its share of cool redesigns. The next generation of any make & model is a chance to see what annoying glitches have (hopefully) been eliminated, and also to see what new bells & whistles are included.

Ready to see which four cars caught our attention? Read below – you may be surprised with a few!

Nissan Versa Note

For years, the nifty Honda Fit has dominated the U.S. subcompact market. Nissan countered with the regular Versa a while ago, but the brand-new Versa Note goes right for the Honda jugular with a similar body style, peppy performance and even the same exact horsepower (109 HP) as the 2007 Fit, Honda’s first year of U.S. production. The note is nimble enough to navigate tricky urban avenues, yet (surprisingly) roomy enough to take a road trip, too. And for a subcompact, the Note has some pretty cool extra options, like an auto-dimming rearview mirror (hey, for subcompact cars, that’s a big deal), navigation system and stylish trim possibilities. Oh, and we should mention it gets up to 40 MPG on the highway.

2016 Honda HR-V

What’s up with Honda’s 3-character autos, anyway? From the CR-V to the beloved CR-X (since replaced by the underwhelming CR-Z), the Japanese automaker loves things in threes. The HR-V is their newest car, and it’s the perfect blend of the Accord and the CR-V. This 138 HP crossover handles like a sedan, yet has enough elbow room to accommodate a family of five with relative ease. Throw in Honda’s legendary reliability and value, and you have the best crossover model in years.

2016 Cadillac CT6

Luxury. Power. Performance. Name-brand recognition. And the kind of technical chops that’s making Germany a little nervous. This sedan is perhaps the most widely-anticipated car in years, and Cadillac delivered – and then some! First of all, it’s hard not to love a car that has an optional 400 HP twin-turbo V-6. (This isn’t your father’s Cadillac.) But the CT6 offers much more, including an 8-speed automatic tranny, aluminum interior appointments, massaging seats (no falling asleep behind the wheel!) and the type of audio system that would make Dr. Dre pound his fists in envy. $70,000 may sound like a lot for a base price, but keep in mind the German luxury sedans can easily exceed twice that amount. The CT6 is definitely worth a test drive and, if you can afford it, a place in your garage.

2016 Mercedes-Benz G Class SUV

Speaking of German automakers – well, they still know who to craft an automobile or two. The G Class SUV looks like – but is anything but – a box on wheels. Most SUVs tout their “off-road” credentials, but trust us – the G Class really can go off-road. Designed to take on water and keep chugging, the great thing about this Benz SUV is its uncompromising comfort. You can be traversing a creek or going out to dinner, and the ride feels exactly the same, thanks to legendary Benz-grade suspension. It’ll set you back over $100,000 for a fully loaded G Class, but you get what you pay for. In this case, this is a good thing.

These are just four models to look forward to. Plenty more highlight the ’16 class, including some destined to become all-time greats. For ’16 models and anything that came before, remember that BuyAutoParts.com will help keep your vehicle running like new.
