FIRESTONE RIDE-RITE PARTS

BuyAutoParts.com offers Firestone parts and accessories at the best prices. Firestone was originally established as a manufacturer of tires and rubber products in 1900. Firestone Industrial Products Company was established in 1936. The company was the first to manufacture a pneumatic suspension component called the Airride™ air spring. This invention led to the development of a line of air springs and other air suspension components used in vehicles today. The company currently supplies air springs for a range of automobiles including light vehicles, heavy-duty trucks, trailers and buses across the world. Firestone's headquarters are located in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Steel springs in conventional suspension systems have been replaced by air springs in newer vehicles. Air springs also called air bags, are filled with air to maintain the optimal ride height and limit the vibrations in the automobile. The air bags are made of strong rubber. The air spring suspension also includes an air compressor and air reservoir. The air compressor serves the purpose of inflating and deflating the air bags. Air spring suspension systems allow for the adjustment of the ride height in cars, depending on the load in the automobile. They are easier to customize and allow for a wider tuning range.

FIRESTONE RIDE-RITE

Firestone has come up with various new innovations in the air suspension market since its establishment. During the 1950s, the company started manufacturing rail car air springs for trains. Around the same time, Firestone started supplying Original Equipment air springs for buses. The brand introduced the 1X style springs with steel stamped pistons and sealed 1T style air springs in the 1950s. In the 1970s, Firestone entered into the production of air springs for heavy-duty trucks. The brand also manufactured ride-rite & air helper springs for light vehicles. Firestone started using plastic pistons in their air springs during the same decade. The 1970s also saw Firestone's business expand to a global level with the inauguration of a sales center in London, United Kingdom.

It was in the 1980s that Firestone merged with Bridgestone. During the same decade, the ultrasonic internal height sensor was introduced to improve the safety of automobiles with air springs. The 1980s also saw the development of air springs for front air suspension systems. Firestone's air helper products expanded with the inclusion of coil-rite springs in the 1990s.

Firestone's air springs are superior to others in terms of performance and quality. Firestone employs highly-advanced technology in developing its air springs. All air springs undergo rigorous testing and strict quality control processes. Endurance, reliability and excellent comfort in all driving conditions are the key qualities of Firestone air springs. Firestone makes it a point to manufacture products that reduce CO2 emissions. To ensure a green environment, the company recycles and re-manufactures its products. Since 2002, the company follows Six Sigma processes to reduce waste.
