Keihin Corporation is a Japanese manufacturer of automobile parts for cars, trucks and motorcycles. It was started on December 19, 1956. The company's headquarters are in Tokyo, Japan. It has separate divisions for building OEM and aftermarket parts. Keihin started manufacturing parts in the United States in 1989. The corporate headquarters for the North American market are located in Anderson, Indiana. The company currently markets its products in various regions across the world including Thailand, Philippines, Brazil, Germany and China.

In 1957, the company developed its first carburetor prototype. The carburetors were simple components that were used in older vehicles to mix the air and fuel and deliver it to the engine. The throttle plate controlled the air flow in the carburetors. Carburetors have now been widely replaced by fuel injection systems. In 1963, Keihin started manufacturing carburetors for Honda vehicles. 1977 saw the introduction of the first CVCC engine carburetor. The brand's first fuel injector was commercially available from 1982. As with the carburetors, Honda cars were the first to employ Keihin's fuel injectors.

KEIHIN

Currently, the brand mainly supplies parts for its major shareholder, Honda Motor Co. Ltd., and also to other automakers including Acura. Keihin's main range of auto parts includes carburetors and fuel injection systems. Furthermore, the brand focuses on manufacturing engine and transmission components. The line of engine components produced by Keihin includes intake manifolds, throttle bodies, Active Control Mount (ACM) solenoids, spool valves and fuel pipe assemblies.

Keihin manufactures Electronic Control Units (ECU) for Active Control Mount (ACM) and all-wheel drives. The ECU for ACM is responsible for limiting the vibrations caused in the vehicle due to the engine. The all-wheel drive ECU regulates the switching between two-wheel and all-wheel drive modes. The brand also manufactures the FI-ECU which monitors the ignition system, fuel system, transmission and other powertrain components. The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Unit Sensor serves an assist to the seat-belt in the event of a collision. The SRS sensor supplies information about the vehicle’s acceleration to the SRS unit. The SRS unit in turn takes the necessary action to protect the driver and the passengers by controlling the airbags and pre-tensioner that rolls the seat-belt.

The range of transmission devices offered by Keihin includes linear solenoid valves for automatic transmission and solenoid valves. The brand also builds climate control parts such as HVAC assemblies, compressors, condensers, valves, ambient sensors and intake manifold assemblies. Fuel injectors, fuel pressure regulators and low-pressure filters are offered by the brand under the fuel system line of products.

Keihin is one of the pioneers in introducing parts which are compatible with substitute fuels such as Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and bio-ethanol. The brand has developed revolutionary, lighter fuel supply systems for Natural Gas Vehicles (NGV) which reduces CO2 emissions and offers a better fuel economy. The company has also contributed to motorsports since 2009. Keihin supports the Keihin Real Racing team in the SUPER GT Series and GT500 class.
