This is a remanufactured steering gear box for standard cab 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 trucks, both 4 and 2 wheel drive. The 2 wheel drive extended cab version uses a different box. These are remanufactured from cores sent back, they are not brand new gear boxes. If you replaced the gear box three times and still have an issue, it might not be the gear box that's the problem. I'd recommend having the problem diagnosed by a reputable shop.

This steering gearbox (82-00237) has a 3/4" input shaft with 25 splines and a flat spot. What exact vehicle do you have? We can check to see if we have the correct gearbox available.

The QR gearbox means "quick ratio". It wouldn't really affect steering weight, you just get more front wheel travel with the same steering wheel input. Two things we've had good luck with on 1994-2001 Rams, which famously have pretty weak steering:
