The high performance gearbox has a quicker steering ratio, 2.5 turns lock to lock. The standard replacement is between 3 and 3.25 turns LTL.

This gearbox (82-00305 R or AN) is a stock replacement with the same steering ratio as OEM, between 3 and 3.25 turns LTL depending on production variations. We also have quick-ratio versions of the gearbox available if you're looking to sharpen your steering response.

This is only tested and guaranteed to fit left-hand drive, US-spec vehicles. If this is a fairly common swap, you can check with anyone who's done it before, see if they can provide the part number of a gearbox they've verified works for the swap, and we can check to see if we have that gearbox available.

It's getting harder to find four-bolt gearboxes because the castings were a little fragile, but the 3-bolt can be installed on a truck that originally had the 4-bolt with zero issues. The steering ratio is the same as OEM, but the "HPR" gearbox has a different set of spool valves internally to make the steering feel a little more secure, especially with larger, heavier tires.

Which seals are you referring to? Every steering box we sell is complete and ready to bolt right in, with brand new seals for the case and input/output shafts. Seals for the power steering lines are not included, but we do recommend replacing them at the same time.
