The only turbo that would require a core to be sent back would be the Remanufactured turbo. There is a core charge of $50 at the time of purchase. This would be refunded to you once you send the original turbo back. Our other turbos do not require a core deposit.

This turbo does not include the pedestal so you would either have to use your old one or purchase separately. Part # 40-30078 SG is a stock replacement turbocharger that comes with the factory style brass journal nearing. We do offer a high performance replacement that does come with ball bearings, part # 40-30078 OH.

This turbo (Stigan 847-1013) is a stock replacement that's going to fit and perform exactly the same as OEM, and has the same journal bearings as OEM. We do have a Garrett PowerMax ball bearing turbo for these same applications available here:

The billet actuator on this turbo (Stigan 847-1426) is preset to the same opening pressure as OEM, but the actuator rod is adjustable; if you zoom in, you can see there is a part of it that's threaded with an adjustment nut. The primary appeal of the billet actuator and compressor are faster response and better durability, while still fitting like OEM and working well on an otherwise unmodified or lightly-modified truck.
