Thank you for your inquiry. The wheel hub assembly on this listing is used for all models on the 2010 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. On the 2 wheel drive model you will not be using the splined input.

Thank you for your inquiry. Once the wheel hub assembly is mounted it will seal it off from particulates entering from the back end. Keep in mind the spline input serves no purpose on the 2x2 model. the Wheel bearing is sealed so if dust or water enters the spline input it will have to impact on the performance of the hub.
