BuyAutoParts.com is currently seeking an experienced Distribution Manager who is responsible for ensuring that all Warehousing and Distribution related objectives and functions of the company are achieved as planned – both on budget and on time. This position drives the strategy and analysis of all warehousing functions in our primary San Diego warehouse, as well as our satellite and 3PL distribution locations around the country. Responsible for both strategic and day-to-day management of all Warehousing and Distribution activities, the ideal candidate is able to either roll up their sleeves in our distribution environment, or present analysis and metrics in a planning.

 

Qualifications:

-     Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a technical specialty.MBA or other advanced degree a plus

-     Must have a minimum of 7 years of related experience in a Supply Chain, Logistics and/or Distribution environment with a minimum of 4 years of demonstrated supervisory experience; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

-     Experience with a WMS system is required

-     Must have demonstrated experience in leading large scale projects

-     Strong knowledge of Warehousing, technical services, manufacturing and logistics preferred

-     Must possess demonstrated leadership skills and exceptional written and verbal communication skills

-     Capable of leading a safety culture that consistently achieves top industry safety performance

-     Knowledge and understanding of federal and local OSHA safety regulations related to warehousing and shipping environments

-     Prior experience with an ERP system is required, preferably MS Dynamics NAV or related program

-     Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

-     A passion for the automotive industry, cars or car parts preferred, but not required

 

Responsibilities:

-     Oversee Warehousing and Distribution operations

-     Direct and analyze all elements of distribution, from receipt through shipment to end customer, and make recommendations as to how processes can be optimized. Provide cost savings recommendations and ensure spend is within budget

-     Provide the business leadership in any WMS or other supply chain and distribution systems initiatives from requirements gathering to successful implementation

-     Keep up to date with advances in Warehousing and Distribution enabling technology

-     Achieve distribution operations operational objectives by contributing warehouse operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends

-     Meet distribution operations financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions

-     Develop distribution operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements; developing, implementing, enforcing, and evaluating policies and procedures; developing processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management, and shipping

-     Increase warehouse throughput and design by planning layout, product flow, and product handling systems; evaluating and recommending new equipment

-     Advance warehouse operations system improvements by analyzing process work flow, manning and space requirements, and equipment layout

-     Ensure proactive involvement in, accountability for and demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, incident management and understanding of current laws and Company policies regarding workplace safety
