Sr. Product Manager

Our traditional WD group continues to serve wholesale accounts, while our internet site is a popular destination for retail customers, car enthusiasts and mechanics.

We are currently seeking a Sr. Product Manager (PM) to join our Products Team. The PM will be responsible for the full-scale management of a key product category. He or she will be expected to take full ownership of a product line or lines, and develop strategies and regularly make decisions that drive both revenue and profit growth. Responsibilities of the PM will include sourcing, buying, forecasting, merchandising, competitor analysis, strategic planning, and more. The PM will interact daily with domestic and international vendors, as well as regularly interface with the company’s internal Marketing, Sales, Logistics and Accounting departments. Advanced excel skills are a must, as the position requires a considerable amount of spreadsheet and data analysis. The PM will report directly to the Vice President of Products.

Qualifications:

-     A minimum of a BS; an MBA or other advanced degree would be a plus

-     At least 5 years’ experience as Product Manager, Product Analyst or other relevant professional experience

-     Proven leadership and decision-making abilities

-     Outstanding team management and interpersonal skills

-     Excellent written and oral communication skills

-     Ability to understand and analyze large volumes of data

-     Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

-     A passion for the automotive industry, cars or car parts a plus

Responsibilities:

-     Coordinate with VP of Products and Products Manager to create business and product plans that contribute to profit and growth

-     Implement existing product updates to meet the company’s and customer’s needs

-     Utilize market, industry and competitive expertise and analysis to drive product positioning. Understand customers, influencers and value chain to develop product offerings with clear advantage over competitive offerings

-     Develop and execute business strategies for new product lines

-     Manage and maintain product set-up, including initial set-up, cost, price and description changes

-     Work with cross functional team to provide back-up support on marketing collateral development, new product launches, packaging development, and brand messaging that helps drive revenue and margins

-     Coordinate product needs and implementation requirements between multiple departments, and track the product through its entire life cycle

-     Determine appropriate adjustments (markdowns, delivery changes and quantity changes) to the plan to maximize sales, profits and to protect the brand
