Purpose / Summary:

BuyAutoParts.com is an eCommerce company that uses Microsoft SQL for the database infrastructure and relies on many ETL processes and reports for daily operation and decision making.

The primary responsibilities of the SQL Developer is to architect, develop, manage, and maintain stored procedures, SSIS packages, SSRS reports, and optimize the performance of the database operation. The developer will also be expected to create database development coding and best practices guidelines, manage and optimize complex database schema, and document and maintain the database model.

The secondary responsibility for the SQL Developer will be to architect a data warehouse that will be used as the source of truth for our business intelligence initiative. Knowledge of BI best practices and implementations is highly desired.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-     Work closely with other departments to gather and document functional technical report requirements for new reports and translate those changes to reporting solutions using database structures (tables, stored procedures, views, etc.)

-     Manage the data warehouse to ensure accuracy and reliability

-     Create complex reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SharePoint, .Net, and Tableau

-     Develop and design web-based dash-boarding

-     Create documentation of report logic and processes

-     Work with QA team to ensure accurate and complete testing

 

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:

-     Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required

-     Minimum 3-5 years of demonstrated MS SQL development experience

-     Minimum 2 years of SSRS report writing experience

-     Minimum 3 years SSIS package creation experience

-     Minimum 3 years of data modeling and schema architecture experience

-     Minimum 2 years of experience working with data warehouses/data analysis/business intelligence

-     Experience working with Tableau to visualize data is a plus

-     Experience working/developing with C#, ASP.NET applications is a plus

-     Experience managing databases and database servers is a plus

-     Must possess the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and assignments

-     Proven experience in effectively partnering with business teams to deliver their goals and outcomes by designing user-friendly reports

-     In-depth understanding of underlying data, data structures, and business uses to ensure reports meet business needs

-     Critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills

-     Previous experience with ERP systems; Microsoft NAV or other Dynamics a plus
