The Chrysler Prowler is a “retro” styled production car manufactured in 1997 and from 1999 to 2002. The Chrysler Corporation was established by an American manufacturer Walter Chrysler in 1925. Its headquarters are located in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Walter Chrysler adopted the struggling Maxwell Motor Company and used its remnants to form the Chrysler Corporation. With the release of the Dodge and Plymouth models in the 1930s, the company generated strong sales. Chrysler also owns the Jeep trademark since 1987. The company was merged with Daimler-Benz Corporation in 1998, to form the DaimlerChrylser company. Top-selling models of the brand include the Dodge Magnum wagon, Dodge Charger and Dodge Caliber. When DaimlerChrylser faced some financial difficulties in 2009 the merger with American giant Fiat brought substantial financial benefits to both companies.
The Plymouth Prowler was later called the Chrysler Prowler. This vehicle was based on the 1993 concept car that had the same name, Prowler. It had a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produced a horsepower of 253. It had a 2-door roadster body style and a four-speed AutoStick transmission. The Chrysler Crossfire is the successor of the Chrysler Prowler.
