The Scion iQ is a city car that was first introduced in 2011. Scion, a North American subsidiary of the Toyota Motor Corporation, was established in 2002. It is headquartered at Torrance, California. The brand was launched with the aim to target the younger segment of the market. They unveiled their first concept cars, the bbX and the ccX, at the New York Auto Show in 2002. The brand's first models, the xA and the xB, were produced in 2003. Scion currently has 5 models in its lineup: the xB, tC, xD, iQ and the FR-S. In March 2013, an all-electric version of the iQ, the iQ EV, began production. The car is based on Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive technology, a drivetrain technology developed for full-hybrid vehicles.
