The Diesel Plunger is a part of the engine's fuel injection system. It is driven by the crankshaft of the engine. Each cylinder in the engine has a corresponding plunger which is responsible for pushing the fuel mixture through the injector nozzle. The plunger regulates the amount of fuel that enters the injector and sets the timing interval for each injection. The plunger opens the fuel valve with every backward stroke. When the plunger begins to move forward, it pushes the fuel out into the nozzle with the right amount of downward force.

In modern engines, the amount of fuel that enters the injector is controlled by the engine control unit (ECU) of the car. The injector has a solenoid that enables the ECU to accurately determine the injector times through inputs from the oxygen sensor and the engine speed. You car's fuel efficiency is dependent on the proper working of the fuel injection system.

If the diesel plunger is damaged, it could cause problems with your car's efficiency and fuel consumption. To minimize any possible damage to your car's engine and fuel ignition system, you should replace the diesel plunger if it is damaged or broken. At Buy Auto Parts we stock a wide variety of diesel plungers for every car make and model.
