Ferrari S. p. A. is an Italian automobile manufacturer that was founded in 1947 by Enzo Ferrari, a motor-racing driver. The company has its headquarters in Maranello. Founded as Scuderia Ferrari in 1929, the company sponsored race drivers and also manufactured race cars. It was in 1947 that the company moved to the production of street-legal vehicles. Ever since its establishment, Ferrari has been considered as one of the world's best race car manufacturers and has a long-standing status as a top race contender in Formula One racing. The first road-car, the 125 S, was released in 1947 and featured a 1.5 L V12 Engin3. The 250 was rolled out in 1953, which was followed by the America, a large touring car.

The Daytona, a Gran Turismo automobile, made its debut at the Paris Auto Salon in 1968. In 1969, Fiat acquired a 50% share of Ferrari and the company released the Dino, its first mid-engined car. Supercars were considered to be the loftiest of Ferrari's efforts and the 250GTO, released in 1962, was the first. Ferrari continued its domination, especially in the racing car segment, over the next few decades. In 1973, the Berlinetta Boxer was its first 12-cylinder mid-engine car. The company released the Testarossa in 1984 as a successor to the Berlinetta. The Ferrari F40, rolled out in 1988, was the final car commissioned by Enzo Ferrari before his death later that year. In 2002, the brand rolled out the Enzo, a supercar named in honor of its founder. Popular models of the car include the GT4, F50 and Dino.
