What is a Steering Control Valve or Steering Cylinder

Steering systems have changed over the years and each time they change new technology takes the place of the old. With new technology taking over the old begins to fail and need to be either replaced or rebuilt. When rebuilding older parts it is important to take care to that the cores these parts are based on are in good shape and the process is done correctly. Each of the units such as the steering control valve and steering cylinders need specific attention paid to them.

The steering control valves that BuyAutoParts rebuilds are not just rebuilt internally but have some extra steps to be sure of the quality.

- New OE (Original Equipment) quality seals and O-rings are installed

- New dust boots are installed on almost all units unless the boots are in perfect condition

- Ball studs are inspected and replaced if any signs of wear are apparent

- Port threads are thoroughly inspected and new tube seats are replaced if necessary

- All the threads in the unit are thoroughly inspected

The steering cylinders are inspected and rebuilt with the same level of care to be sure of a quality build.

- Ball studs are inspected and replaced if any signs of wear can be seen

- New OE (Original Equipment) quality seals and O-rings are installed

- Housings are thoroughly inspected for dents and warpage

- Port threads are thoroughly inspected and new tube seats are replaced if necessary

- All shafts are carefully inspected and replaced if any signs of wear are apparent

- All threads are on the unit are thoroughly inspected

Once the units have been inspected and rebuilt they are tested for movement and quality.
