Jensen Motors Limited was an automaker who manufactured sports cars and commercial vehicles. Its headquarters were in West Bromwich, England. The company was founded by Richard and Alen Jensen in 1934. Jensen manufactured commercial automobiles under the JNSN marque in the late 1930s. During the Second World War, Jensen manufactured fire-engines, specialized ambulances and turrets for tanks. The British Motor Corporation chose Jensen to produce bodies for the Austin Gipsy. Some of the well-known Jensen cars are the S-type, Interceptor, Healey, CV8, H-type, P66 and the FF.
Eric Neale started designing cars for the brand in 1946 and his first model, the Interceptor, was introduced in 1950. In 1955, the company started manufacturing Neale's masterpiece, the 541 which had a fiberglass bodywork. The Austin A40 Sports and Austin-Healey 100 were produced by Jensen in collaboration with Austin, a British motor vehicle manufacturer. In 1960, Jensen signed a contract with Volvo to assemble bodies for the Volvo P1800 coupe. The company became defunct in 1976.
