More info

A Knock Sensor responds to spark knock caused by pre-detonation of the air/fuel mixture. The main purpose of the knock sensor is to monitor the performance of the engine. It is a sensor that is screwed into the engine's block or cylinder head. The knock sensor sends signals to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to control the engine's timing.

The knock sensor protects other car parts like pistons, rods, valves, gaskets and plugs from getting damaged due to engine knock. When the flame moves out from the spark plug ignition point, the pressure waves present in the combustion chamber crash into the piston or cylinder walls creating a knocking sound. If your car's knock sensor is not functioning properly, you can find an OEM knock sensor replacement at Buy Auto Parts at an unbeatable price.

At Buy Auto Parts we stock a wide range of knock sensors for all car makes and models. All our car parts have been tested thoroughly and come with a warranty.
