Replacement Window Regulator

A replacement window regulator is imperative to a vehicle's window mechanism. The replacement window regulator makes it possible to move the car window up and down. In some older applications the replacement window regulator is connected to a manual handle which, when turned, moves the replacement window regulator up and down. In newer applications the replacement window regulator is hooked up to a motor which, at the press of the button, moves the regulator up and down.

The replacement window regulator physically holds the window glass. The replacement window regulator is not powered or motorized itself. The car's battery powers the window motor which in turn, moves the replacement window regulator. A good way to diagnose a faulty replacement window regulator is by listening. When you push the button and hear the motor buzzing but see zero reaction from the glass itself, you need a new replacement window regulator.
