The Triumph Motor Company, a manufacturer of cars and motors, was headquartered in Coventry, England. It was established as S.Bettmann and Company in 1885 by Siegfried Bettmann. The company originally imported European bicycles and sold them under their trade-name. Triumph started manufacturing its first car, the 10/20, in 1923. After the Second World War, in 1946, the brand released a new range of cars like the Triumph Roadster. It was followed by the Renown and the Mayflower.
Triumph marketed a series of Michelotti-styled saloons and sports cars during the 1960s and the 1970s. The Triumph TR7 was a sports car produced by the company from 1974 to 1981. An eight -cylinder version of the TR7, the Triumph TR8, was introduced in 1978. The Triumph Acclaim, which is a rebadged variant of the Honda Ballade, was the last model released by the brand. The company became defunct in 1984. The trademark was purchased by BMW in 1994. The Triumph Super 7, Gloria 10, 2000 Saloon, TR3, Vitesse 6 and the Toledo are some of the well-known models of the brand.
