AC Hose High Side - Discharge

The High Side AC Hose carries the pressurized refrigerant from the high-side components of the AC system to the low side. The high side (high pressure components) of the AC system includes the AC Compressor, AC Condenser and the AC Receiver Dryer. The AC compressor compresses the low pressure refrigerant into a highly pressurized gas. The compression process generates heat in the pressurized refrigerant.

The condenser removes the heat and converts the high-pressure gaseous refrigerant into a high-pressure liquid, which is then conducted to the receiver dryer which removes any moisture present in the liquid refrigerant. The High Side AC hose carries the highly pressurized liquid refrigerant on the discharge side of the compressor to the expansion valve, which is the entry point of the low-pressure side.

If the high side AC hose is damaged, it could result in the loss of refrigerant. The leaking refrigerant will splatter on the neighboring parts of the car. A low level of refrigerant will cause your air conditioner to blow air that is less cooler than the desired temperature. You should periodically check your AC hoses for any leaks or damage.
