They are often wishbone shaped with bushings on the inside and ball joint on the outside. They are popular because they are very strong and can sustain rough environments much better than stamped steel ones.

The last type of Mercedes Benz control arm is the cast aluminum one. While not as strong as cast iron ones they are strong and very light which is an advantage. Now since it is aluminum it will not corrode like the stamped steel ones but they can be more susceptible to damage such as bending and cracking.
