Door Window Seal

The Door Window Seal is a weatherstripping that keeps the rain or wind from entering your car through the doors or windows. The window seals or window-sweeps are attached on the bottom of both the interior and exterior of the glass. They keep the water and dirt from slipping into the door. The channel seals line the inside of the car's window frame. They are usually made of soft rubber or felt and serve the purpose of preventing water and wind from entering your car when the windows are rolled up. They also prevent your car's window from rattling in its frame when it is completely rolled up.

The door seals are fixed to the outer perimeter of the vehicle's door. They are held in position by clips that slide into the door seal and snap into the holes in the door. O-shaped seals are used in doors that have a frame around the window while U-shaped seals are employed in doors that do not have a frame around the window. The former kind of seals connect the entire perimeter of the door while the latter is attached vertically to the front and rear of the door and is connected across the bottom.

Over time, the window and door seals tend to wear out, develop cracks or become brittle due to continuous exposure to sunlight/rain. If you find water dripping into the vehicle onto your floorboards or hear a whistling noise when you're driving, it is possible that your window/door seals are broken. At Buy Auto Parts we stock a wide variety of door window seals for every car make and model.
