volkswagen Passat Parts

The Passat, which has been in production since 1973, is Volkswagen's signature model in the family car segment. Currently, the Passat is marketed in two forms. For the US market, the vehicle is built using the Volkswagen Group B Platform. It is a new mid-size sedan (NMS). The NMS is also available in other markets including South Korea and China. The European model, which falls under the D-segment (as defined by the European Commission), is a large family car that is constructed using the Volkswagen Group MQB platform.

The Passat was a much-anticipated model from Volkswagen after the demise of the Beetle. The Beetle, the most iconic car built by Volkswagen, remained successful throughout its run. After more than six decades of continuous production, Volkswagen finally decided to call off the Beetle in the early 2000s, as it faced stiff competition among its peers. Volkswagen was looking to cement its name again with a new model and therefore, decided to construct the Passat. It also represents the brand's first front-wheel drive model.

Let’s get to know a bit about Volkswagen and the history of the Passat! Volkswagen is a legendary brand known for producing cars with sheer excellence in performance and design. The company started producing automobiles in 1937. Volkswagen which means "People's Automobile" in German has lived up to its name by producing cars that offer the very best in efficiency and comfort to their customers. With its central offices in Wolfsburg, the German automaker continues to roll out vehicles that have given the brand its own legacy in the annals of automobile history. Thanks to Volkswagen's penchant for perfection, models like the Golf and Beetle have earned their place as one of the auto industry's classic models.

When Volkswagen rolled out the first generation of Passat, the brand owned two companies named Auto Union and NSU, which later merged to form Audi. This aided Volkswagen to build the Passat using the engineering it inherited from these companies. The first generation Passat was available in a sedan body style. In the North American market, the Passat was marketed under the name Dasher. The Passat and the Dasher were almost similar, but with minor differences in a few parts including the bumper and headlights. Second generation Passat’s were generally known as the Santana, with the North-American variant again getting a different name, the Quantum. These cars were rolled out in a sedan, station wagon and coupe body styles.

Unlike its previous generations, the third-generation vehicles were marketed under the name “Passat” in all markets, including the North-American market. The vehicle was impressive for its abundant interior space and handling. It was in the fourth generation that the sales of the Passat took off. Over the span of its many generations, the vehicle has become more sophisticated and efficient. From time to time, the Passat also received facelifts. In 2008, the Passat CC, a four-door-coupe version of the Passat was launched. With the eighth generation of the car currently in production, the Passat has become one of the best choices for customers looking to buy family sedans!

Any fault in your car's parts need to be identified way before the parts completely fail. Faulty parts can cause associated systems to become inoperable altogether. Fortunately, most defective parts exhibit discernible signs of impending failure. For example, a brake pad is a part that presses against the brake rotor to bring your vehicle to a halt when you press the brake pedal. The brake pads can lose their efficiency over time. A worn-out brake pad, when pressed against the rotor, will result in metal-to-metal contact, causing the vehicle to stop at a greater distance than usual. Other symptoms of a failing brake pad include spongy brake pedals, screeching sound while braking, and visibly thin brake pads. Since a series of components, including the master cylinder and calipers, are involved in the process, a faulty brake pad can diminish the entire braking performance. Faulty brakes can not only endanger yourself but also make you a danger to others on the road. The same can be said of any other auto parts, as well.

We understand how risky it can be to drive with faulty brake parts or any other auto parts for that matter. A wide array of parts for your Passat such as A/C Compressors, A/C clutches, side view mirrors and tie rod kits are available from us at reasonable prices. Place your order now and have them delivered straight to your location. With replacement parts, repairing your vehicle doesn’t come any easier. Be sure to follow proper installation procedures to get your Passat back to its original form!
