A/C Compressor

This compressor replaces a few GM part numbers but it will fit your vehicle. Some compressors have a rear head switch and some do not. If you do not, you can leave the connector alone. If you do, you can swap the switch from your original unit.

Most if not all a/c compressors are used on more than one vehicle application. Always refer to the underhood decal as the primary source for refrigerant and lubricant information for your specific model's a/c system.

I show the following info for a/c system capacity. If you have rear a/c, 42 ounces R-134A refrigerant, 11 ounces of PAG-46 oil. Without rear a/c, 28 ounces of R-134A and 8 ounces or PAG-46. The oil can be added to the  suction or discharge port on the compressor.

Thank you for your inquiry. The compressor on this listing is sent with packaging oil. You will have to drain out that oil and add the correct type and amount based on manufacturer specifications.

Your vehicle's a/c system requires 11 ounces of PAG-46 oil.

Refer to the Factory Service Manual for the torque specifications on the compressor mounting bolts. To get you the correct amount of oil and refrigerant, we need to know the engine size.

Thanks for contacting us. Our compressors are shipped with a smaill amount of oil which may not be the correct amount for you 2004 Chevrolet Silverado. What you will need to do is empty the compressor upon arrival and add 8 ounces of PAG-46 compressor oil to the low side port of the compressor.

The compressor will only have about an ounce or so of oil for storage and shipping. Drain this out so you can add the correct amount of oil to the system, 8 oz. PAG 46.

This compressor is used in multiple applications and some require a switch in the rear. Vehicles that use the switch have to swap it over from their original compressor. Vehicles that don’t use the switch will just leave the plug in the back. This compressor is guaranteed exact fit for your 2003 Chevy Avalanche without rear AC.

The more expensive kit has the Genuine GM compressor, and the cheaper kit includes our compressor. We manufacture our compressor to meet or exceed OEM specifications. Both kits are guaranteed exact fit for your 2003 GMC Sierra 4.8L. 5.3L. 6.0L or 8.1L Engine.

If you are referring to the switch on the back of the compressor, it is part # 62-20010. We also sell the compressor with the switch, part # 60-01588 NB. If this connector is broken, it is likely the compressor will not funciton properly.
