The Jaguar XJRS are the line-up of sports cars manufactured by Jaguar from 1984 to 1993 to support the teams that took part in the WSC (World Sportscar Championship) Group C and IMSA(International Motor Sports Association) Camel GTP series. Jaguar is a British car company that is now a division of Ford Motors. Sir William Lyons and William Walmsley founded the company on 11 September, 1922. It has its headquarters at Whitley, Coventry. Jaguar started manufacturing the V12 engine for the car XJR-5 that took part in the IMSA Camel GTP championship. After gaining recognition in the IMSA, Jaguar turned to TWR (Tom Walkinshaw Racing) and made another car, the XJR-6 for WSC. Later Jaguar built an identical car for both the series, the XJR-9. The XJR-10 (for IMSA) and XJR-11 (for WSC) were released in the 1989 season with a new turbocharged 3.5L V6 engine. The XJR-12 and XJR-14 were released in the following years. The XJR-14 had a 3.5L naturally aspirated V8 engine. The XJR-15 was released in 1990 with a Jaguar V-12 engine.
