Nissan Altima Parts

+

The Nissan Altima is a family sedan which possesses a high quality in terms of comfort, fuel economy, performance and design. With all these, the car is also affordably priced, making it fit in with the needs of customers who look for cars within its class. When you drove your Altima for the first time, you might have put your car through its paces, relishing in the new interiors, sleek design and brand-new engine. However, over time due to wear and tear, there might have been minor or major hiccups in your car's performance that could have necessitated fixes and replacements of car accessories like the floor mats and door handles or even replacing entire auto parts such as camshafts and oxygen sensors.

While some faulty parts can be repaired to fix the problems in your Altima, this cannot always be the case. Sometimes, auto parts might be impaired adversely to the point where replacing the parts will be the only viable option for you. Don't despair, though! We are here to make the replacement process easier and help you complete your installation with no hassles! We know that there's nothing more frustrating than a ride that is hindered by under-performing auto parts. However, poorly fitted replacements can cause a lot more grief, especially if the right installation procedures have not been followed. You can find a lot of how-to articles and installation procedures that you can check out. Remember though that the part installation is only half the remedy. In order to continue benefiting from the excellent replacement parts from our store, you also need to maintain the parts regularly. A new part doesn't ensure that you can drive your car with no issues plaguing it ever again. Auto parts are bound to fail at some point. However, proper maintenance can ensure that you prolong the time before it will need another replacement or fix. A proper maintenance schedule is very conducive to the subsistence of your vehicle.

Let's learn a little more about your Altima's technical specifications! The Altima was first available as a compact car which later evolved into the mid-size car that is available in the market today. The car first showed up in 1992 as a 1993 model. The Altima, which became a crowd-pleasing model as soon as it hit the markets, was originally produced in Nissan's plant located in Smyrna, Tennessee. As the Altima became an increasingly favorite model of customers, in 2004, Nissan's plant in Canton, Mississippi also started building the vehicle. The significant increase in the demand and the overwhelming response earned the Altima the “North American Car of the Year” award in 2005. Of course, it goes without saying that the Altima is still one of the top-selling Nissan models. Other car models from the automaker that are well-liked around the world include the Maxima, Frontier, Quest and Leaf. The Toyota Camry and Honda Accord are often considered to be the Altima's major competitors.

The Altima which has the Nissan Bluebird as its base model, has been rolled out in generations. The first models of the Altima were named “Stanza Altima”. The name can be found in the owner manuals and trunk lids of the Altimas released in 1993. Vehicles of the first generation had an l4 engine combined with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. It was the third generation cars which were rolled out in 2002, which gave Nissan a breakthrough in the mid-size vehicle market. Currently in its fifth generation, the car still uses an l4 or V6 engine, with CVT (continuously-variable transmission). From time to time, these cars also received a mid-generational refresh and were rolled out in versions such as the 2.5 Base, 2.5 S and 2.5 S Special Edition. Until the third generation, the Altima was produced in a 4-door sedan body style. From the fourth through the fifth generation, the 2-door coupe body style was also added.

The Altima also served as a comeback model for Nissan into motorsports. Custom-made Nissan Altima vehicles were raced in the 2013 International V8 Supercars Championship. To Nissan's credit, the Altima was the first car to be approved under the New Generation V8 Supercar regulations.

The Altima, often known to be one of the sedans that provides the best handling experience, relies on its top-class steering parts to help maneuver tight corners and navigate through narrow streets. One part which provides the power for an efficient steering is your Altima's steering rack. The pinion moves back and forth over the steering rack, helping the wheels turn in the right direction. In power-assisted steering, the steering pump generates the required pressure in the steering fluid. The symptoms of a bad steering rack are a loose steering wheel, thudding or clunking noises, or leaking steering fluid.

One common symptom of problems related to steering is uneven tire wear. Since the tire serves as an outer covering for the wheels and the movement of the wheels are determined by the steering system, an uneven tire wear is almost always a positive indicator of a steering problem.
