Chevy GMC Transfer Case Motor Install Tip Video

Video Transcription:

When diagnosing or replacing a transfer case motor for Chevrolet and GMC trucks (model years 2003 to 2008), using part number: #48-130, you will want to take note that the transfer case ground wire for some of these vehicles is mounted to the frame rail, just in the back of the driver side front wheel grounds. This location promotes corrosion and can be the cause of intermittent operation of the transfer case motor. In addition, there are other systems that share the same grounds such as the fuel pump, body control module and other units. When performing vehicle diagnostics involving multiple system or functions related to the mentioned components, this ground may be the culprit.

We recommend inspection of the ground wires, ports and the frame surface. If corrosion is evident, clean the ground wires, ports and frame surface, as needed. Repairing these grounds will ensure reliable operation on the transfer case motor and other systems.
