The firm developed a 1557cc l4 engine, the Lotus-Ford Twin Cam, for its 1962 Elan model. This engine was also used in other vehicles by Lotus such as the Cortina and Europa. In 1972, the 900 series engines, which include the 904, 907, 911 and 912, were introduced. In 2002, Lotus Cars won the "Queen's Award For Enterprise" for its contribution to international trade. Some of the current models of Lotus include the Elise, Exige S, Evora and the 2-Eleven.
