Vehicles of the brand were built by brothers Horace and John Dodge in 1914. These vehicles were well-known for their durability and value for money. The firm is headquartered in Auburn Hills, Michigan. With the death of Horace and John in 1920, the company was sold to Dillon, Read & Co., in 1925. Eventually it was sold to the Chrysler Corporation in 1928. The Dodge brand withstood a short-lived merger with Daimler-Benz AG from 1998 to 2007, and was sold to Cerberus Capital Management in 2009.
