Mercury's parent firm was Ford Motor Company. The Eight, the brand's first vehicle, was launched in 1939. 1957 saw the introduction of the Colony Park, a full-size station wagon. The Grand Marquis was the top-selling vehicle of the brand in the late 1990s. Mercury became defunct in 2011. 

The Mercury Monarch was available in 2-door and 4-door sedan body styles. It was equipped with a 3.3L/4.1L l6 or 4.9L/5.8L V8 engine. The vehicle's successor was the Mercury Cougar.
