The Toyota MR2 was rolled out in three generations: 1984–1989, 1989–1999 and 1999-2007. The car was available in two body styles: 2-door coupe and 2-door convertible. It was equipped with a 1.5L/1.6L/2.0L/1.8L engine and a 5-speed manual/6-speed manual/4-speed automatic transmission. The MR2 was selected as the “Import Car of the Year” by “Motor Trend” magazine in 1985.
