Mini Cooper Cars & Parts
Mini is a British automobile marque owned by BMW which produces small cars. The brand originated as a single car, the Morris Mini-Motor, produced by the British Motor Corporation in 1959. The Mini, or the Mark I, was very popular for its spacious layout and compact design. The car was sold under the Austin and Morris brands.
The Mini was eventually expanded into a brand of small cars. Subsequent models of the Mini saw a number of additions and upgrades until the final generation, Mark VII, which was rolled out in 1996. The Mini Moke, which was rolled out in 1964, was originally designed for military use but did not succeed. It is, however, regarded as a "cult" civilian vehicle that is primarily used as a beach-buggy in many tropical countries.
The Mini Cooper was a performance car that was rolled out in 1961 and the Mini Cooper S, a more powerful version, followed in 1963. The Cooper S scored a hat-trick at Monte Carlo Rally in 1964, 1965 and 1966. The Cooper was discontinued in 1971 but was relaunched in 1991. In 2001, the Mini Hatch, a three-door hatchback convertible was rolled out. The brand revived the Clubman, a 4-door estate van, in 2008. The Countryman, launched in 2010, is the brand's first compact crossover SUV. It was formally unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show.
The current lineup of the brand includes the Countryman, Clubman and Cooper.
