The cooling fan is a rotating device that protects the engine from overheating. Its purpose is to draw cold air through the radiator to keep the temperature from rising too high. Cooling fans are also called radiator fans and vary in their designs and blade numbers. It is found between the engine and the radiator but at times it is located in front of the radiator.
The cooling fan maintains the temperature of the coolant and prevents it from rising above the set point.
