Spider Injector

A Spider Injector is a central fuel metering block that has a line going to each cylinder. It can be usually found in older vehicles. It has a single base which is connected with separate injector lines. Its molded plastic web body has 6 or 8 injectors connected permanently. Thus, the center hub is in the shape of a spider. The fuel is supplied to all cylinders simultaneously from a central spider injector line. It is located inside the intake manifold's plenum.

The diesel fuel injector and the spider injector follow the same working principle. The car's on-board computer monitors the spider injector unit and sends the error code if it fails. There are two types of spider injector systems, the Central Port Injection (CPI) and the Central Sequential Fuel Injection (CSFI).
