The Isuzu Stylus is a subcompact automobile produced from 1990 to 1993. Founded in the year 1916 by Yoshisuke Aikawa, Isuzu is a Japanese manufacturer of commercial vehicles and diesel engines. It has its headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. It was formed by the joint venture of Tokyo Ishikawajima Shipbuilding & Engineering Co. and Tokyo Gas & Electric Industrial Co. Isuzu responded to the 1970 oil crises by producing energy-efficient vehicles, with the low-emission, high output V Series PA model. The company made the first diesel engine for passenger cars in 1961.
The Isuzu Stylus is the third generation vehicle of the Isuzu Gemini. It was built on the R-body platform. It had a 2-door coupe, 3-door hatchback or a 4-door sedan body. It was offered with variant engines with a 3-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual transmission. This vehicle served as a base for the Isuzu Impulse, Geo Storm and Asüna Sunfire.
