The Plymouth Valiant is a compact car produced between the years 1960 and 1976. Plymouth, established in 1928, was a division of the Chrysler Corporation and DaimlerChrysler. The firm had its headquarters in Michigan, United States. The Chrysler Plymouth Model Q, rolled out in 1928, was the brand's first vehicle. The Plymouth Model U, introduced in 1929, was the first car of the firm released without the prefix “Chrysler”. Cars of the brand were equipped with a V8 engine for the first time in 1955. In 2001, the brand was discontinued and some of its models were rebranded as Chrysler.
The Plymouth Valiant was rolled out in three generations: 1960–1962, 1963–1966 and 1967–1973. It was built based on the A-body platform. Valiant cars were available in sedan, wagon, coupe, convertible and hardtop body styles. In 1974, the model became a rebadged Dart and it was produced till 1976.
