The Pontiac Parisienne is a full-size car manufactured between 1959 and 1987. Founded in 1926, Pontiac was an automobile division of General Motors. The company had its headquarters in Michigan, United States. Initially, cars of the brand were produced by GM's Oakland division. Pontiac's first model was unveiled in 1928. Pontiac cars had a straight 6-cylinder engine that generated a horsepower of 40. The brand's popular cars, the Torpedo and Streamliner were rolled out in 1939 and 1941, respectively. In 1948, the firm introduced a Hydra-Matic automatic transmission in its cars. The Torpedo and Streamliner were replaced by the Chieftain line in 1949 and 1952, respectively. The all-new redesigned Pontiac cars were released in 1949. The brand became defunct in the year 2010.
The Pontiac Parisienne was rolled out in five generations: 1959-1960, 1961–1964, 1965–1970, 1971–1976 and 1977–1986. Parisienne cars were built based on the B-body platform. They were available in convertible, coupe, sedan, station wagon and hardtop body styles. Parisienne cars had a V8 engine and a manual/automatic transmission.
