The Pontiac T1000 is a subcompact rolled out from 1981 to 1986. Edward Murphy formed the Pontiac Buggy Company in Pontiac, Michigan in 1893. In 1907 it was established as an automaker named Oakland Motor Car Company. General Motors acquired the company in 1909. In the year 1926, the Pontiac brand was introduced by General Motors (GM) as a companion make for Oakland automobiles. The firm had its headquarters in Detroit, Michigan. Pontiac continued to produce a wide range of vehicles from muscle-cars to sleek sporty cars until its discontinuation in 2010. Some of the highly recognized models manufactured by the brand are the Pontiac Starchief, Tempest, Grand Prix, Sunfire and Fiero.
