Hyundai Cars & Parts
Hyundai Motor Company is a South Korean automaker that was established in 1967 by Chung Ju-Yung. They have their headquarters in Seoul. Hyundai, along with Kia Motors, comprises the Hyundai Motor Group. The company was initially established as the Hyundai Electric and Engineering Construction Company in 1947. The Cortina, produced in cooperation with the Ford Motor Company, was the first automobile manufactured by the brand in 1968. In 1976, the brand released its first Korean passenger car, the Pony. Hyundai did not export cars to the US but had a considerable success in Canada. The Excel was the first car to be exported to the United States in 1986.
In that same year, Hyundai also released the Grandeur, the brand's first full-size luxury car. The car has evolved into a mid-size luxury sedan in its latest generation. In 1988, with the launch of the Sonata, Hyundai began to manufacture cars using its own technology. In 1991, the company developed its own gasoline engine, the 4-cylinder Alpha. The Elantra, a compact car, was released in 1990.
In 1994, the brand launched the subcompact Accent, which is currently in its 4th generation. 1999 saw the release of the Equus, the brand's largest and most expensive model. The Santa Fe and Tucson, two of the brand's SUVs, were released in 2000 and 2004, respectively.
