History of Infiniti Cars & Parts
In just one generation, Infiniti went from just another Japanese luxury brand to one of the most recognizable cars on the road.
Infiniti is the luxury vehicle division of the Japanese automaker, Nissan Motor Company. It was introduced in 1989 with an aim to target the premium market segment and compete with mainstream luxury brands of that period such as Lexus, Acura, BMW and Audi. Its first model, the Q45 luxury sedan, was not well received. The M30, a 2-door luxury coupe, was also released in 1990. The J30, which followed in 1993, was a rebadged version of the Nissan Leopard. Initial sales of the brand were slow owing to their poor advertising spots.
In 1996, Nissan replaced the J30 with the I30, a mid-size car. In 1997, the QX4, a mid-size luxury SUV was released. The brand released the FX, a line of luxury crossover SUVs that included the FX35 and FX45 in 2003. From the introduction of the QX4 to the FX45, the online Infiniti parts market took off. The EX series, that was rolled out in 2007, is a line of compact executive luxury crossovers. It was the first Infiniti model to feature an Around View Monitor, a mounted camera system that aids drivers in parking.
Popular models of the brand include the FX45, I30 and M45. With all the technological innovations on each succeeding Infiniti model, the demand for parts surged right along with them.
