The Pontiac G8 is a full-size car manufactured between 2007 and 2009. Pontiac, established in 1926, was an automobile division of General Motors. The firm had its headquarters in Michigan, United States. Initially, vehicles of the brand were produced by GM's Oakland division. Pontiac's first model was unveiled in 1928. Pontiac cars had a straight 6-cylinder engine that generated a horsepower of 40. The brand's popular cars, the Torpedo and Streamliner were rolled out in 1939 and 1941, respectively. In 1948, the firm introduced a Hydra-Matic automatic transmission in its cars. The Torpedo and Streamliner were replaced by the Chieftain line in 1949 and 1952, respectively. The all-new redesigned Pontiac cars were released in 1949. The brand became defunct in the year 2010.
