An automobile with high-end safety features often manages to secure a special place in the market, like your Volvo XC90. The XC90 is the perfect choice for customers who are looking to buy SUVs that provide good performance and safety, along with the right blend of luxury characteristics! The Volvo XC90 is a mid-size crossover SUV which was the first to be released under the Volvo's SUV line-up.

The Volvo XC90 was unveiled during the North American Auto Show as the Adventure Concept Car in 2001. This was followed by the release of a trailer image of the model. After receiving a positive response from the market, the model was finally launched at the North American Auto Show in 2002. In the same year, production took off at Volvo's Torslandaverken plant, where Volvo has been assembling its vehicles for more than 50 years.

This signature model from Volvo has been produced in two generations. The production of the first generation ceased at the end of 2014. However, it is still marketed in China under the name XC90 Classic or XC Classic, with the vehicle being manufactured in China itself. A range of XC90 models with varying engine configurations and capacities were offered in the first generation. The XC90 was specially designed to reduce the risk of damages during collisions. For example, the roof of the XC90 was strengthened to prevent damage to the passenger compartment if the vehicle rolled over. The first Roll Stability Control was introduced in the XC90 in 2003. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) estimated the roll-over percentage of the 2013 XC90 to be 17.19, and named the model as one of its Top Safety Picks for that year. The XC90's incredible features and overall positive market response earned it the North American Car of the Year in 2003. In the same year, the XC90 was also recognized as the Sport/Utility of the Year by Motor Trend magazine.

The second generation of the XC90, which was introduced in 2014, was offered with enhanced safety and performance capabilities. The model came with an inline-four engine which was either twin-charged or twin-turbo charged. Twin-turbo engines include two turbochargers, which can force the engine to provide a higher power output than single-turbo systems. Twin-charged engines include a turbocharger and a supercharger to increase the power generated by the engine. With the first generation models setting high standards for safety technologies, the second generation XC90 further raised the standards. The second-generation XC90 is designed using innovative safety technologies. The XC90 was the first vehicle to include run-off road protection packages and an auto brake at intersection feature.

Volvo is a Swedish automobile manufacturer headquartered in Gothenburg. It primarily manufactures luxury automobiles including coupes, sedans, SUVs and station wagons. The company was founded in 1927. Since its formation, Volvo's primary concern was the safety of their automobiles, and safety engineering has always taken first priority in the brand's product strategy. Regardless of the model and year of any Volvo car, it would include the latest safety mechanisms.

Your Volvo can provide ideal performance only when all its parts are in excellent health. While Volvo cars are known to incorporate up-to-the-minute technologies, this doesn't imply that less attention is needed in maintaining them. Every car part, regardless of the size or the work it does, needs you to take care of it on a regular basis. Most times, when the engine does not provide the required power, we either suspect a problem with the fuel or air intake mechanism. The intake manifold or air filter are two common parts that can fail, thereby decreasing the air supplied to the engine. If your Volvo is a turbocharged version, the turbo or the intercooler can also be suspected to be the culprit!

Considering the fuel system, the problem can lie with any of the fuel parts such as the pump or the injector. The air intake and fuel systems are just two possible causes of an under-performing engine. Therefore, do not restrict yourself to inspecting only these two systems for a poorly-performing engine. Consult with a professional mechanic to figure out the actual problem and initiate the necessary repairs to restore your car's efficiency!

When you detect the actual faulty part, knowing what caused the part to go bad is indeed essential. After you haul your vehicle over to the shop, make sure you talk to your mechanic about it; it will definitely help you in the long run to prevent the same problem in your XC90! You can find air intake system components, fuel injection parts or any other replacements for your Volvo or other vehicles at BuyAutoParts.com.
