You will definitely need to replace the drier; it acts as a filter on your AC system, and if you do not replace it along with the compressor, it could release debris into the system that can damage the new compressor. This kit includes the compressor, drier filter, expansion valve (doesn't necessarily have to be replaced, but it's relatively inexpensive and MUCH easier to replace when the AC lines are cleared out), an 8oz bottle of Pag-46 oil, all the O-Ring seals required for installation, and comes with a two year warranty, versus one year if you order the compressor by itself.
