BMW claims that the long-term fluid originally used in the transmission does not require servicing unless specified for a repair. However, Rein recommends periodic fluid and filter changes to ensure maximum transmission life and performance, especially in vehicles with higher mileage and or performance specifications. This Rein transmission service kit is specifically designed to service the hydraulic circuit and wet clutch filters. The included OE clutch filter cartridge is the first line of defense against free floating clutch debris and should be changed with every fluid refill for maximum longevity of the dual clutch gearbox. CRP recommends using the OE DCTF-1+ or Pentosin FFL-4 high-performance DCT fluid for this service.
