Pretty much any AC parts you can buy today are designed with R134a in mind, since R12 is no longer commercially available. If you can get R12, you can still use this kit, but you would need to use mineral oil rather than the PAG oil the kit comes with. If you are converting from R12 to R134a, you will need to get new line adapters for the high and low side AC ports, replace the drier filter and flush the system very thoroughly.

Yes, this compressor (60-01287) fits all US-spec 1984-1988 Toyota pickup originally equipped with a Denso 10P15C compressor. These trucks were also available with a 10P13C, so you would need to check any part number labels on your original compressor to confirm which one you have before ordering. Thank you for your inquiry. For this model, the difference is with the A/C Compressor clutch pulley. It is either a 4 groove serpentine belt or a V belt that is used by early 1988 models which used a 10P15C Compressor.
