A/C Compressor and Components Kit

Every compressor we sell will have some oil inside to protect the part during shipping and the time it spends on our shelf, but you would need to drain it and add fresh oil prior to installation. If you can provide your vehicle information, we can look up the exact type and amount of oil and refrigerant required.

Pretty much any AC parts you can order today are designed with R134a in mind. If your vehicle is from the past 5 years or so, it may be using 1234yf refrigerant; check the AC label under your hood to confirm which one your vehicle uses

Most of our aftermarket replacement compressors will work with either PAG/R134a or POE/1234yf - you just have to make sure the oil and refrigerant types match, so you can't use PAG with 1234yf or vice-versa. We know this because some vehicles used the same compressor in all 50 states, but only used POE/1234yf in states that required it for environmental reasons (I see it a lot on Ford products from about 2013 or later)

However, the supplier catalog we use to look up the exact amount of oil and refrigerant required for each vehicle states that a 2018 Civic (either 1.5L or 2.0L) requires 3oz of POE oil and 15oz of 1234yf, and does not provide a capacity reccomendation for PAG/R134a. Using too little oil is bad for AC reliability and using too much oil is bad for AC performance, so for that reason, I would reccomend sticking with POE/1234yf in your specific car if possible.

Accumulator and receiver drier are different names for the same part. It acts as a filter for your AC system, catching both little bits of debris that could damage your compressor and expansion valve or any moisture that could freeze up in the lines and create a blockage. On your car, the drier is a skinny canister mounted to the side of your AC condenser (the big thing up front that looks like a radiator). The replacement is a new dessicant element (similar to those DO NOT EAT packets that come in a shoebox) that slides into that canister, and a new cap & seal to prevent leaks
