You are stuck in traffic one day after work on the highway, when all of sudden you notice a car coming at fast speeds from your passenger right view mirror. The car does not seem to be stopping and is trying to fit in the space between the lanes of cars crashing into every car it passes. You try to get up to the small media next to the wall of the highway as fast as you can to avoid getting hit. You manage to pull out to towards the median but it is too late and the car rear-ends you sending you crashing into the wall. The impact is pretty hard and the whole front of your car looks badly damaged. You try to straighten out your Hyundai but notice the wheels are making a screeching noise and can barely be moved. The crash has left your Hyundai control arm damaged and you will need Hyundai replacement control arms.

The Hyundai control arm is a part of your vehicles suspension system. Specifically, it is a hinged suspension link between the chassis and the suspension hub that carries your wheels. The purpose of having a Hyundai control arm set is to allow the up and down movement of your suspension system. There are many shapes the Hyundai control arm can have but the main used in most vehicles is the wishbone or A-arm. Now your Hyundai control arm will use rubber bushings or ball joints that are mounted securely to them in order to allow the up and down rotation without getting all tied up.

Earlier we mentioned the design of the Hyundai control arms, with the wishbone or A-arms being the most common. The other type of design available is the Macpherson strut style. Let us look at a wishbone or A-arms design first. It is common because the design is still very functional. This is typically used as Hyundai front control arms because they mount in the front suspension and have upper and lower control arms. Its triangular shape has two widely spaced inboard bearings. The inboard bearings restrict the outboard end of the wishbone from moving back and forth in order to control the degrees of freedom the control arms have.

A Macpherson strut Hyundai control arm will be used in the front suspension but these are perpendicular to the axis of the vehicle. A diagonal radius rod constricts the strut from moving back and forth. This type of control arm only uses a lower control arm because the place of the upper control arm is taken over by the strut.
