Chevrolet, also called Chevy, is an American automaker headquartered in Detroit, Michigan. The company is owned by General Motors. Chevrolet was established as the Chevrolet Motor Car Company in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant, the co-founder of General Motors. The company started off with producing the Series C Classic Six, a brass-era car, with a 4-door touring body style. More than 100 years later, the company has emerged as a key player in all segments of the automotive industry including cars, commercial automobiles and trucks.
The Silverado is one of the trucks that helped Chevrolet become a renowned manufacturer in the pick-up truck market. General Motors markets a truck with the name Sierra which has the same mechanical specifications as that of the Silverado. The Silverado is a chic truck which is designed in regular cab, extended cab and crew cab body styles. The truck received a warm response from the market for its high fuel economy and comfortable interiors. The visually appealing Silverado also includes powerful engines. Customers love it when they have choices! The same is true of Silverado's engines. The Silverado incorporates engines with varying capacities.
The name “Silverado” was first used by General Motors for a trim level of the Chevrolet C/K pick-up trucks. The Silverado has been in production since 1998 and has been rolled off the assembly lines in three generations. From the first generation of the Silverado, the truck has been available in many variants such as the light-duty, heavy-duty and hybrid. The light-duty trucks, which are marketed either as 1500 and 2500, have variants including the half-ton and SS. The hybrid version of the Silverado was manufactured in 2004 and it was General Motor's first hybrid passenger vehicle. The heavy-duty variants are marketed in the 1500HD, 2500HD, and 3500 models.
The Silverado has also won many international titles for its performance and demand. To name a few, it was awarded the “North American Truck of the Year” at the North American International Auto Show in 2007. In the same year, the Silverado was named the “Truck of the Year” by Motor Trend magazine.
One of your biggest responsibilities is to maintain your Silverado in top form. We know how important it is to maintain your truck, as it serves as a main means of transport for you and the cargo you carry to places. Over time, your truck parts can lose their original efficiency, thereby diminishing the overall performance of your truck. It doesn't always mean that the parts on your car will necessarily have to be replaced as soon as you notice a drop in their performance. Sometimes, even a simple procedure like cleaning the sensors or checking, and refilling the oil to the optimal level can bring your car back to form. If you are capable of identifying and handling any issues that come your way when it comes to repairing cars, refer to your manufacturer's manual and follow the correct procedures to get the issue fixed. Otherwise, drive your Silverado to your nearest mechanic and consult with him on what needs to be done.
Bringing your Chevrolet Silverado back to a good running condition doesn't have to be difficult when we are here to help you. The replacement parts we stock for your Silverado are extensive and are of top quality. Speaking of replacement car parts, there are two options available: OEM (original equipment manufacturer) and aftermarket. OEM parts, as you know, are the ones manufactured by the automaker themselves and aftermarket parts are produced by third-party auto-parts manufacturers. At Buy Auto Parts, you can find both OEM and aftermarket parts for your Silverado and other significant models of Chevrolet such as the Avalanche, Bel Air, Sprint and Tahoe.
Some parts are specific to certain makes or even a few models of those makes. One part that is found only in GMC and Chevrolet cars is the spider injector. This injector is similar to the fuel injector you find in other automobiles. The name spider injector is due to the shape of the unit, which when laid out resembles a spider. The spider injector's central pump resembles the spider's body and it has six or eight thin, long tubes extending out that are similar to the legs of a spider.
Delivering cargo to places you are unfamiliar with can be a matter of concern! In such cases, navigation systems can serve the best purpose, as they can plot routes to destinations using GPS (Global Positioning Satellite). A navigation DVD loaded with the routes of your city can also serve the same purpose. When you are traveling to remote locations, it can become monotonous without an entertainment system like a radio or CD player. Check out our inventory for navigation and entertainment systems for all makes and models, including your Chevrolet Silverado.
