Aug 13, 2014 | SAN DIEGO, Ca. . .  BuyAutoParts.com, an ecommerce auto parts distributor ranked number 82 on The San Diego Business Journal 100 Fastest-Growing Private Companies List for 2014. The company was able to claim this spot by obtaining an impressive three year revenue growth of over 55%. Bringing in $27.1 million in 2011, then leaping to an impressive $42.17 million in 2013.   

This is the second year in a row BuyAutoParts.com finds themselves on the San Diego Business Journal 100 Fastest-Growing Private Company list. Last year it came in at number 75. Being able to stay on this list multiple years in a row is difficult to-do, especially when revenue is in the $40 million range. The list is based off of revenue growth as a percentage for the past three years. It is much easier to grow by a large percentage if a company only made a few hundred thousand three years ago, but growing from a starting point of $27.1 million is much tougher.

In the past, BuyAutoParts.com focused on replacement auto parts. These parts were direct replacements for parts which came stock in a vehicle. In 2013 the company started investing in providing performance upgrades. These parts are add-ons which let customers get a little more, or a lot more out of their vehicles. These new offerings will be a major part of a continued growth strategy. It allows BuyAutoParts.com to not only sell need parts but also want parts. Now the company can target anyone with a car, instead of those with just a broke down vehicle.

While earning a spot on SDBJ Fastest-Growing List for the past two years, BuyAutoParts.com was also named to The Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide™ for the second year in a row. They ranked 422 in 2013 and moved up to 387 in 2014. The company also improved in the Automotive Parts/Accessories category breaking the top ten for the first time with an impressive rank of 9.
