The Oxygen Sensor is an electronic device that is used to measure the amount of oxygen present in the gas or liquid. It is part of your car's emission system and determines the amount of fuel to be delivered to the engine. The main purpose of the oxygen sensor is to help your car's engine run efficiently and produce fewer emissions. It is located in the exhaust manifold and has two ends. One end finds the unburned fuel level and the other end is connected to wiring that passes the information to the fuel control unit.

Based on the sensor readings, the Engine Control Unit (ECU) ensures that the engine is given the right amount of fuel. It adjusts the fuel supply amount only if the fuel level is too rich or too lean. If your car's oxygen sensor is not functioning properly, you must replace it as soon as possible to avoid further damage.
